WARRANTY & TERM: 6 MONTH / 7,500 MILES 50 / 50 Parts and Labor Warranty
Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions
Covered Parts: ENGINE: ALL INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PARTS. CRANK-SHAFT AND BEARINGS, OIL PUMP, FUEL PUMP, INTERNAL TIMING GEARS OR CHAIN, CAMSHAFT, CAMSHAFT BEARINGS, ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLIES AND PUSH RODS, VALVE CONNECTING RODS, DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE GEAR. THE ENGINE BLOCK AND CYLINDER HEADS ARE COVERED IF DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY MECHANICAL FAILURE OF AN INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PART.
TRANSMISSION: THE INTERNAL PARTS OF THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION OR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER. THE AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL TRANSMISSION CASE IS COVERED IF DAMAGED BY THE FAILURE OF AN INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PART. MANUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLIES ARE NOT COVERED.
DRIVE AXLE ASSEMBLY: (front and rear) DRIVE AXLE HOUSING INCLUDING PINION BEARINGS, SIDE CARRIER BEARINGS, RING AND PINION GEARS, CARRIER ASSEMBLY, THRUST WASHERS, AXLES, AXLE BEARINGS, CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS, INTERNAL TRANSAXLE SEAL, AND DRIVE AXLE HOUSING, IF DAMAGED BY THE FAILURE OF AN INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PART.
TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: RING AND PINION GEARS, DRIVE CHAIN AND GEARS, CARRIER BEARINGS, AND SEALS ARE COVERED, IF DAMAGED BY THE FAILURE OF AN INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PART.
SEALS AND GASKETS: SEALS AND GASKETS ARE ONLY COVERED WHEN REPLACED IN CONJUNCTION WITH A COVERED REPAIR.
FOUR WHEEL DRIVE PARTS: ALL POWERTRAIN COVERAGE, PLUS: INTERNAL PARTS INCLUDING BEARINGS, BUSHINGS, SPROCKETS, CHAINS, SLEEVES, AND GEARS (EXCLUDING ELECTRICAL ITEMS). THE TRANSFER CASE IS ALSO COVERED IF DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY A FAILURE OF AN INTERNALLY LUBRICATED PART.
Additional Coverages:
The following items are covered if the warranted vehicle is brought to Seller as soon as the part fails or Seller determines this is a necessary repair. Seller is not responsible for these parts, or any other damaged parts, if the vehicle is driven after the part fails:
Starter & Alternator Power Window Motors & Switches ABS Brake System including sensors and modules
Tensioner & Belts Power Door Lock Switched & Actuators Brake System including: pads, shoes, rotors, drums,
Battery & Cables Front (only) Wiper Motors master cylinder, lines, hoses, and wheel cylinders
Water pump Wheel Bearings and Hubs Exhaust System (except impact related damage)
Heater Core Tie Rod Ends, Stabilizer Links Power Steering Pump,Belts, hoses, and steering gear
Head Gasket Ball Joints, Pitman Arms Driveability & Emission: Oxygen sensors, EGR valves
Radiator & Fan Blower Motor & resistor MAP, MAF, IAC & Speed sensors, coils, plugs, & wires
Thermostat Headlights, Brake & Running Lights, Turn Signals
Complimentary Oil Changes: Seller will provide three free oil changes, one every two Months or 2,500 miles (whichever occurs first) during the term of this Limited Warranty. Max. of three free oil changes.
Wheel Alignments: Seller will pay ½ cost of wheel alignment only when necessitated by a covered repair.
Check Engine / Service Engine Lights: Seller will check and clear these light and make repairs if Seller feels they are necessary to the safe operation of the vehicle. Wear and tear or age related lights such as Cat. Efficiency or EVAP codes are not covered.
Towing: Seller will pay ½ (up to $50.00) of towing expense, but only if towing is authorized in advance by Seller and for breakdown related to a covered part or system.
Additional Benefits: Seller will check and fill fluids at no charge to purchaser. Seller will also visually inspect, test drive, and hook up vehicle to a diagnostic computer for code reading purposes only at no charge.
Exclusions: Tires, Struts, Air Conditioning, Radio and Stereo Systems, Power sliding doors, heated seats, trip computers and digital information screens, any part or component not listed under “Covered Parts” or “Additional Coverages” above is not covered by this limited warranty.
Purchaser Cost & Deductible: There is no deductible under this warranty. Purchaser is responsible for their share (50%) of all cost (parts & labor) related to repairs done each visit that are covered under this limited warranty. Labor Rate for covered repairs are $50.00 per hour based on the Mitchell Labor Guide plus applicable diagnostic charges. Parts cost are determined by a standard formula used in the Mitchell Service Program. All charges are due upon completion of the covered repair unless prior arrangements have been made.
Limitations on Implied Warranties: ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED BY ECONOMY AUTO SALES OF KNOX AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS AGREEMENT.
Exclusion or Limitation of Consequential Damages: PURCHASER SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER FROM DEALER ANY CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, DAMAGES TO PROPERTY, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INCOME, OR ANY OTHER INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.
Purchaser’s Legal Rights: SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, OR DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE. THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS APPLICABLE TO THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS HEREBY EXPRESSLY AGREED BY DEALER AND PURCHASER TO BE ONE YEAR. THERE ARE NO OTHER EXPRESS AGREEMENTS BETWEEN PURCHASER AND SELLER.
Repairs: Seller will repair or replace any warranted part or component which fails in normal use prior to the expiration of the warranted time period and prior to the use of the vehicle for the warranted miles. Buyer must return the described motor vehicle to Seller for repair or service under this limited warranty, and all repairs or service will be made in either Seller’s on site shop, an authorized repair facility, or pursuant to Seller’s authorization. No reimbursement for repairs will be made with out Seller’s advance authorization If a breakdown occurs out-of-town, seller must be notified during regular business hours so that repairs can be authorized.
Other Terms: Diagnostic charges will be covered under the terms of this limited warranty if the diagnosis reveals a covered defect. Seller may, at its option, replace covered parts with used, rebuilt, re-manufactured, or new parts. This limited warranty is extended solely and exclusively to the Purchaser named above, and shall be terminated by Purchaser’s sale or transfer of the covered vehicle to any other person.
This limited warranty shall be void if:
1. The vehicle is used for business or commercial use.
2. The odometer of the covered vehicle becomes inoperative, is altered, or tampered with, after the sale, so that actual mileage can not be determined.
3. The vehicle has not been maintained, or improperly maintained, or has been abused or subjected to abnormal usage. Documentation will be required to prove that oil changes were completed every three months or 3,000 miles.
